OK are you ready for my project?  Well who else has older kiddos that are really hard to shop for? Or anyone on your list that you like to give gift certificates too?  Here is a super cute way to make gift card giving (and receiving) WAY more fun!! (side note - sorry for the silly bow on top the twine was not messed up when I got this ready but I guess I fiddled with everything too much when I was getting the picture placement ready - I have actually decided to add a big cut-out snowflake in the center of the blue bow but didn't have time to get that done for the hop.)  Back to the project...

The paper is My Minds Eye and is very glittery!! I used May Arts ribbon for the bow and Ippity stamps on the tag.  The border punch is Martha Stewart.

I used two sheets of paper cut to 10 1/2" square. Scored them at 3 1/2" to make 9 squares. I glued the two papers together in the center square only. Cut off the squares at the four corners and then glued only the edges of the 4 outer squares to form pockets. I cut half circles to allow for pulling out the gift cards. The box lid is also cut 10 1/2" squared and then scored to that the center square is just slightly larger that 3 1/2" so that it fits down nicely over the box. You can cut the edges of the lid with a decorative border punch for a little extra flair! I also thought it was fun to add another layer of pockets by gluing in another box cut to 9" and scored at 3". I will then fill this with some $5.00 gift cards to the girls favorite fast food places, a few to their favorite places to shop and maybe even put in a gift certificate for a pedicure! We'll see :)

Well have lots of fun on the rest of the hop!!! and don't forget to leave comments - (you know how much I love to give away fun Ippity stamp surprises!!!)

I love this box all by itself Rona, but I love your spin of using it to hold gift cards even more! You could even put something small in the center opening of the box - one of those giant Hershey kisses would fit perfectly I bet! Love you!

Hi Rona,

I absolutely love your giftcard pocket box!! I will definitely be making two of these for my teenagers that just want gift cards and 'Money'. I tried to tell them I didnt know what Money was, but they didnt buy it, so I guess I will have to part with some at Christmas and the box is the perfect way to give it to them!

I am already a follower of your blog (Love it!) and love the bitty paisley stamp I won at Halloween from you. :) I actually made you a card and like Theresa before you, Im the worst procrastinator and it has been sitting on my desk for a month now. I promise to put it in the mail this week!!

Thanks again for the great gift idea and it is really perfect for my kids thi year!

*Hugs*
