{ippity} blog

I know great artists never have to explain their art - but since I am not a great artist I'm giving you my super deep, in depth, symbolic meaning for each step of my card! LOL

I LOVE this sentiment and believe it with all my heart! So I started with that.  I cut it into a pretty shape from Spellbinders and then used Shimmerz Vibez in Blue Jean and a waterbrush to swipe color over the sentiment.  I didn't feel like "splatter" reflected the "pain" but the soft swipes (some darker than others did).  Next the butterfly.  I colored mine with plain yellow because in the midst of pain we don't always feel multi-colored and beautiful...But a sparkle of hope is ALWAYS there! (the sparkle is red spica pen and then I spritzed the whole butterfly with Shimmerz Vibez in Egg Noggin).  My hope is in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the patterned paper (Cosmo Cricket) in the background reminded me of lots of pretty picture frames which for this card symbolized snippets of painful situations from my past that Jesus has brought me through and that now I can look back and be reminded that I AM STRONGER because of it!!!

OK if you made it this far, you can laugh or just think I am silly - but it felt very good making this card today and it really makes me happy looking at it!!

Now have a fabulous time with the rest of the hop and don't forget that you can purchase all of these new stamps on the Unity Website.  I would love for you to choose me, Rona Mallard as your Ippity chick and then have fun shopping!!  Unity and Ippity can be ordered on the same order.  And there are lots of fun new Unity stamps being released today too!!

Rebecca is next and I know she has something fabulous to share with you!!

Enjoy.

Stampy Fun

FINALLY some crafty play time!!! I love to just sit down and create without having to worry about 50 other things to do!! A rare and happy day :)

So I have 3 cards to share today!!

My first card is for the Paper a la Mode challenge at The Outlawz!
Our challenge this week is to use Happy on your card or project.
I used the new Ippity stamps called Bloom & Simplify. LOVE these sets!!!  The paper is from the Sugar Chic 6x6 pad by Heidi Swapp. I used my Tim Holtz Distress markers to color!
On the inside I used Ippity single Happy are Those.  These Ippity stamps are available on the Unity Website. {please click my name - Rona Mallard as your Ippity chick}

My next card is for the Unity Kit of the Month Sketch challenge.  Click here to see April's Sketch.  I used Simple Stories Happy Day 6x6 pad and stamps from my March KOTM.

My last card is for the Unity Challenge - which is a color challenge to use Pink, Green and off-white.  I choose my paper first - this one is from Cosmo Cricket Tea for Two 6x6 pad - perfect for the color challenge.  And because this paper felt a little vintage I decided to use this great Unity set called For the Record. And the sticker letters are from the Echo Park paper set that matches these stamps.

 Have a fabulous weekend!!

Ippity Release Day - and a little wedding update :)

I know my blog has been extremely neglected lately!! I have probably neglected everything in my life getting ready for my daughter's wedding - which is SATURDAY!!! I will show off some photos of some of the projects I made for the wedding and of course my favorite wedding pictures too. We did a little bridal shoot this week and I can't show you everything but I have one little peek to share today.

OK so are you ready for an Ippity Hop to CELEBRATE this fabulous new release!! I have to tell you Angie Blom is THE BEST!! She is so sweet and such a wonderful friend!! I couldn't be happier for her and her dreams coming true through Ippity and Unity!! I am so proud to have these stamps that she designed!! This is my FAVORITE new release!! I have worked on wedding stuff for several months (some days 12 and 14 hours A DAY!!) but I HAD to put it down and pick up these stamps for a bit!!!

I used watercolor paper for my base. Then stamped the floral stamp in glimmer glaze (Island Spring; Purple Passion and Wicked). After stamping the flowers I spritzed the entire thing with glimmer mist (Cherub Pink and Electric Blue). Then I stamped the girl (isn't she GORGEOUS) with black ink and then added some color to the dress using the same glimmer glaze.  I used the twig Ippity stamp from the Sing a New Song set to stamp using the green glimmer glaze along the bottom.  I stamped the sentiment with black ink. Then  matted in black to finish. (finished size is 6x7).  The real life picture is so glimmery and fabulous - I love it!! I may frame it or put it on a canvas later!  Now check out all of these new RELEASES!!  LOVE THEM DON'T YOU?!!! I can't wait til next week when I have time to give them all the attention they DESERVE!!

Outlawz Challenge and a little sneaky snippet

The new Paper a la Mode challenge at The Outlawz is to create a shaped card (or project)!!  I used one of the BRAND NEW release stamps for April - we can only show little snippets and not the full set but Oh My Goodness I am in LOVE with these new stamps!! Angie Blom designed them all and they are GORGEOUS!!

I realized (after) making an oval card - how hard it is to photograph!! Luckily my little neglected Easter bunny planter does not have a plant in it - so he held my card :)  I used paper from indigo blue collection by LYB and my newest spellbinders die (can't think of the name).  Check back on April 12th for the whole release and REMEMBER you can order Ippity stamps directly from the Unity website by clicking my name (Rona Mallard)!!  And there is a fabulous sale going on right now!!

Have a fabulous weekend!

It has been a great week of sharing my Unity creations!! Thanks so much for all the sweet comments! Makes me want to blog everyday LOL - I have been very bad about that lately!! For my project today I made a shaped card using a spellbinders grand calibur die.  I also used a new spellbinders die from Blisy (it was a GREAT Price) to make the black frame. I used my favorite scripture stamp from Ippity set Devoted and the heart from Ippity set Straight from the Heart. I used a red copic spica pen for some added glittery fun!!

Leave your comment for a chance to win 2 Itty Bitty stamps! And remember that you can order Ippity on the Unity website now - I would love to be YOUR Chick - all you have to do is click on my name - Rona Mallard.  Have a fabulous weekend - check back tomorrow to see if you are the winner!!
